What happens during a typical tutoring session?
Each session is personalized to meet your student’s individual needs. When classroom assignments are available, we use them to strengthen reading, writing, grammar, and critical thinking skills. When classroom assignments are not available, instruction follows a structured plan aligned with Florida’s B.E.S.T. standards, focusing on reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, and language conventions.
What grade levels do you support?
I work with students in Grades 7–12, providing personalized instruction in reading, writing, grammar, and English Language Arts. Support is tailored to each student’s academic goals and learning needs.
What subjects do you cover?
I specialize exclusively in English Language Arts, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, literary analysis, and test preparation. My focus is helping students become stronger readers, more confident writers, and successful test takers.
Do you offer daytime homeschool hours?
Yes. Daytime sessions are available for homeschool and other flexible learning schedules, subject to availability. Please contact me to discuss scheduling options.
Do you complete assignments for students?
No. My goal is to teach students how to think, read, and write independently. I guide students through assignments by teaching strategies and providing feedback, while ensuring the work remains their own.
Do you assign homework?
When appropriate, students receive targeted practice or optional activities to reinforce the skills learned during each session. My goal is to build confidence without overwhelming students with unnecessary work.
How does test preparation work?
Test preparation focuses on proven reading, writing, and test-taking strategies tailored to each exam. Students practice with guided instruction and authentic-style questions while building confidence and accuracy.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed without notice may be charged the full session fee.

What if my child struggles with confidence?
Building confidence is at the heart of every lesson. Students receive encouragement, structured support, and achievable challenges that help them develop independence and believe in their abilities.
How do you address the use of AI tools in writing?
AI can be a helpful learning tool when used responsibly. I teach students how to think critically, develop their own ideas, and use AI ethically as a support—not as a substitute for learning.
How soon should we schedule sessions?
Scheduling early is recommended, especially during busy testing seasons. Reserving sessions in advance helps ensure your preferred days and times remain available.
